The total unowned/feral population is esimated to be 25 - 40 million.
In 1959m a 4-month old kitten from Geneva, Switzerland, followed a group of climbers to the top of the Matterhorn.

A person who drowned a cat would someday be a drowning victim themselves.
A person who kicked a cat was certain to develop rheumatism in that leg.
